Starts Feb 10, 2025
Full course description
Trainer: Gary Orton
The Traffic Control Supervisor course is a two-day advanced training course geared to the specific job-related duties of the traffic control supervisor. Critical knowledge is passed on by experienced instructors who combine multimedia and group activities to solve real problems. Upon completion of the course and passing a written examination, participants are mailed a certificate of completion from ATSSA.
This course teaches you how to read and interpret a traffic control plan in the field. It also teaches you how to supervise and oversee people in the field. Upon completion of the TCS State Specific course you will have the oversight of setting up traffic control devices in the field and having people assist in the setup. This course does not certify you as a Flagger. If you so choose you can pay an additional fee and apply to become a Certified Traffic Control Supervisor through ATSSA (for other States that accept ATSSA).
Please note: Certification requirements include passing approved TCT and TCS courses (80%), having 2 years of temporary traffic control experience at a supervisory level or in responsible charge and providing 2 professional references to verify work experience. Recertification shall be maintained at a minimum interval of 4 years.
